NOA Development

NOA Audio Solutions VertriebsgesmbH was founded in January 2000 by Peter Kuhnle, Marcus Krämer and Christophe Kummer to meet the demands of audio archives in digitising valuable content and preserving data. With the Austrian Mediathek as first main customer, solutions were developed from the beginning with a focus on the one hand to solve the needs for mass workflows in media digitisation, and on the other hand NOA concentrated from the very beginning on developing generic tools which can be deployed in other environments. Soon after the development of the Wavebutler, the NoaRecord ingest station as first engine with 3 parallelised stereo streams was brought to the market together with specifically developed remote control hardware with GPIO interfaces and selected AD converters. The ingest systems were developed as classical client server systems to be able to track all technical and workflow driven metadata centrally in a simple database. Since 2002 then the tools have been evolving and different product lines have been created which meet the demands of small archives as well as big broadcast archives as well as service providers. Starting 2008 NOA has developed mass migration workflows for video digitisations and started 2010 to develop standard products for video ingest and video transcoding systems. In 2012 a german daughter company NOA Development GmbH has been founded. In March 2015 a decision has been made to rename the company from NOA Audio Solutions VertriebsgmbH to NOA GmbH to reflect the broader activities in the media and archive market. As of to date, NOA consists of a staff of 16 employees on two locations engaged in Customer Support, Software- and Hardware Engineering, Product Development, Research and Development as well as Sales and Marketing.
